If you have an appointment at Medicentre and you are fully vaccinated for Covid -19 and you have no Covid-19 symptoms (please refer to www.hse.ie to look these up) you can now enter our waiting room area. We will take your temperature before you enter our waiting room as a precautionary measure. Please attend at the time you were given so our clinics can run smoothly and efficiently. Any patient who is not fully vaccinated will have to remain outside the building until the GP / Nurse calls you to attend.

Who is getting COVID-19 vaccines now

We have finished up with our Covid-19 vaccination clinics. If you have not been called for vaccination to your GP centre please contact the HSE to register yourself for vaccine or contact your local Pharmacy.

If you have any queries please contact HSE or local health board for further advice.

Your COVID-19 vaccine appointments

You will get your COVID-19 vaccine as an injection in your upper arm. It will only take a few minutes.

You will need 2 doses.

Your second dose will be at least:

84 days (12 full weeks) after your first dose if you get the AstraZeneca vaccine
28 days (4 full weeks) after your first dose if you get the Moderna vaccine
21 to 28 days (3 to 4 weeks) after your first dose if you get the Pfizer/BioNTech vaccine

Covid19 – What is it?

Coronavirus disease (COVID-19) is an infectious disease caused by a newly discovered coronavirus. Most people who fall sick with COVID-19 will experience mild to moderate symptoms and recover without special treatment.

HOW IT SPREADS
The virus that causes COVID-19 is mainly transmitted through droplets generated when an infected person coughs, sneezes, or exhales. These droplets are too heavy to hang in the air, and quickly fall on floors or surfaces.
You can be infected by breathing in the virus if you are within close proximity of someone who has COVID-19, or by touching a contaminated surface and then your eyes, nose or mouth.

Most common symptoms : fever, dry cough, tiredness.

If you re experiencing any of these symptoms please phone your GP and self isolate at home until further instruction is given to you.
